E-T-A’s XXL photovoltaic roof system

In January 2012 E-T-A has put a new large photovoltaic system into operation. It is the fourth and the biggest PV system on the E-T-A premises.

The power system produces a total nominal power of 265 kWp. The current is inverted by means of 18 power inverters from AC to DC and its power of 230,550 kWh would suffice to supply electrical energy for 60 residential homes. To be on the safe side, we have of course installed our own products designed for the photovoltaic market. We mounted 36 E-T-A DC Disconnects which ensure reliable disconnection in a case of emergency, for instance to protect firemen in the event of a fire. E-T-A is an “Authorised Economic Operator”

E-T-A has received the approval as Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) in the rating AEO-F.

The AEO status allows E-T-A to have less or no customs inspections as it complies with certain supply chain safety requirements, i.e. E-T-A has to make sure that goods in international transport will not be tampered with.

The accreditation as AEO makes E-T-A a top-quality supplier, ensuring safety and meeting international customer requirements regarding logistic processes. Read more about the AEO topic …

Combinations in a modular system: SVS18 and SVS19

DC 24 V power distribution all of a piece: printed circuit boards optimise wiring
in control cabinets.

The "SVS modular system" consists of a mounting rail, with a size and shape that can optimally be adjusted to specific control cabinet concepts. The profile includes accommodation of the carrier pcb for the plug-in type circuit breakers and electrical contacting of line entry, load and signalling level via screw terminals or spring-loaded terminals…

Preferred types make life easier

There is a limited number of
product versions of our comprehensive product range which meet with
a much stronger demand than others. In order to reduce complexity in
production and in the entire value added chain, we decided to reduce
the ordering keys of many product groups in our catalogue and in the
future will focus on these preferred types.

This also holds
advantages for our customers, both with regard to pricing and lead
times. The preferred types can easily be found in the data sheets below the
ordering information.

Please do not hesitate to contact us in the
event of any queries, we shall be pleased to be of assistance.

E-T-A’s customised systems solutions prove cost effective for EADS Astrium

Released 25/01/2011 by Southern Manufacturing 2011 on behalf of E-T-A Circuit Breaker Ltd - E-T-A Circuit Breakers not only manufactures high quality circuit breakers, it also offers a customised systems design and build service in the UK. For example, E-T-A has a programme in place to supply ready built electrical Power Distribution Units (PDUs) on demand to EADS Astrium, Europe's leader in space transportation, satellite systems and services. A series of rack mounting PDUs, populated with E-T-A circuit breakers, have been customised by E-T-A to handle a range of different tasks in fixed ground terminal, terrestrial "fly-away" and ship-borne antenna systems which are being supplied to the German and Australian navies.

Mark Butler, Senior Electrical Engineer at Astrium, explained: "Soon after I joined the project I realised that we were spending a lot of time and money in-house designing and building Power Distribution Units to supply and protect equipment and systems within our antenna units. This was not our core expertise and I felt we would do better to look outside for a supplier with the requisite experience. E-T-A is recognised as a world leader in circuit breaker design and manufacture so we contacted them and soon started work together on a collaborative design programme for a range of PDUs."

Astrium required a range of PDU designs which have between six and ten circuit breakers, pre-wired for the specific application. A majority of the designs employ circuit breakers fitted into an E-T-A Power-D-Box. The equipment protected is diverse, including cooling fans and heaters, power amplifiers, antenna control units, modems and other communications equipment.
